John Ziegler and Andy Bloom of CBS Radio Philadelphia - an Exchange
The History of WIP by Operations Manager Andy Bloom « CBS Philly
Mr Bloom obviously is one of those journalists who hasn't read the Freeh report but just can't believe Mr Freeh would ever be wrong.
These emails are reproduced here in their entirety sans the email addresses. Not one word has been added or eliminated. We believe we are justified in showing this exchange since Bloom and the media have been so reckless in pushing their erroneous assumptions about Freeh and Joe Paterno and this shows just how ignorant Mr. Bloom is of the facts.

Actually, suggesting that Sandusky's retirement was nefarious while also claiming that Freeh's Report was accurate is the HEIGHT of inaccuracy!! It also shows you didn't read the report!!
What I am suggesting is NOT a conspiracy. It is simply everyone independently pursuing their own self interest. Which is exactly how you jackals in the news media all come up with the same take on the same stories (i.e., let's all blame Paterno), because you think it will be good for ratings.
So you are officially giving up? Pretty pathetic since you started this thinking there was no case on the other side! Too bad for the children of sexual abuse.
You guys are going to be humiliated when all the facts come out. Too bad you all seem to lack the capacity for shame.

I’m going to stop after this but since you used the word “inaccuracies” let’s make sure we’re clear:
Words have precise meanings.
I write: You think Jerry Sandusky was booted from the coaching staff because? You respond: First, the Freeh Report specifically exonerates Paterno on the Sandusky retirement.
I didn’t say anything inaccurate.
Next you wrote: I think Freeh was hired by the BOT to justify the firing of Paterno and viewed every piece of evidence through the prism of presumed guilt. The evidence is going to show that this was a railroad job (not a conspiracy).
I suggest you look up the definition of inaccuracy. By definition you have just described a conspiracy between Freeh and the Board. As for whether or not anybody else is going to be convicted, I have no opinion. I do think the whole lot of them are morally bankrupt.
Good day sir.

Wow. Holy Inaccuracies Batman!!
First, the Freeh Report specifically exonerates Paterno on the Sandusky retirement. Obviously you didnt read it.
Second, I specifically said there was NOT a conspiracy.
Third, I am not an alum or even a fan of Penn State. I went to Georgetown.
No wonder you think I am the ill informed one. You don't even know enough to know what you don't know! CBS radio? Amazing. John Ziegler

Are you kidding me? JoePa knew if there was a broken street light in Happy Valley. You think Jerry Sandusky was booted from the coaching staff because? I’m sorry that you think there is a conspiracy. We have a lot of PSU alumni who think the same thing. I assume you must be an alum because no rational thinking human being thinks anything other than there was a massive cover up on all levels.

No it doesn't over simplify. If you are so sure, then it is an easy $10,000 for victims of child abuse.
Did you even read the report? The evidence against Paterno sucks. Three vague emails written by someone else, two of which may not even refer to Paterno?? Seriously? I think Freeh was hired by the BOT to justify the firing of Paterno and viewed every piece of evidence through the prism of presumed guilt. The evidence is going to show that this was a railroad job (not a conspiracy). Curely and Schultz will not be convicted, which is why no one will take my challenge.
You guys all claim that you know there was a cover up and will do anything for the victims of abuse, and yet no one will take this offer. Gee, I wonder why. John Ziegler

Your premise just over simplifies the issue. Seriously do you think that former FBI director Louis Freeh just decided that he was going to make stuff up? Which by the way is what you’ve done and then said PROVE it. The proof is the independent report headed by Louis Freeh. There are no facts in anything you have presented. Freeh on the other hand did present facts. Short of having had cameras or recorders in the rooms it is the best analysis we’ll ever get.

Sorry that the actual facts/truth are idiotic to you at CBS radio. If you are so sure we are wrong, why don't you make sure the victims get $10,000???
thanks John Ziegler

Seriously, this is the most idiotic thing I’ve ever seen (the 2 minutes I gave you). Yeah Louis Freeh just decided to bloody Joe Paterno’s name. All of you trying to defend the indefensible make me sick.

Subject: FramingPaterno.com Releases Stunning Video and Issues $10,000 Challenge to News Media
August 27, 2012, Los Angeles, CA For immediate release...
www.FramingPaterno.com, the website of record for the defense of Joe Paterno, has released a stunning new video which "proves" that Joe Paterno led a "cover up" of the Jerry Sandusky allegations at Penn State. The website is also offering a $10,000 charity challenge for the first media member who will accept it.
The video, which is already going "viral," is a ten-minute animation of what the cover up would have to look like if everything the Freeh Report claimed, actually happened. It is a biting satire which also shows how incredibly unlikely and nonsensical such a "cover up" really would have been.
The video comes on the heels of FramingPaterno.com's news-making release of a shocking scientific national opinion poll which showed that the public's knowledge of this case was remarkably poor.
As part of the release of this video, John Ziegler, the founder of FramingPaterno.com, is also issuing a $10,000 challenge to the first member of a major media organization who formally accepts it.
"If Tim Curley and Gary Schultz, the two former Penn State administrators who are facing allegations of perjury and failing to report child abuse, are convicted of all the charges currently against them, then I will personally pay $10,000 to that media member's child abuse charity of choice," said Ziegler. "If they are not convicted of all charges, the first media member who takes this challenge will agree to either do a major story on how we were right, or pay the website $10,000 to be used on our next project."
"Since the media seems extremely confident that Curley and Schultz are in fact guilty and because supporting efforts to combat child abuse is something everyone can get behind, I would think that members of the news media will be very eager to take this challenge," added Ziegler.
Ziegler, a Los Angeles-based documentary filmmaker who will be attending Penn State's first home game this weekend where he will begin shooting interviews for a possible movie, is available for a limited number of interviews in the Los Angeles area and nationally. He can discuss the video, the challenge, the poll, the new "Paterno" book, and his upcoming trip to State College where he will be handing out 1,000 free t-shirts with a special message for the news media. Ziegler can be reached at talktozig@aol.com

UPDATE: we have added MORE email between Andy Bloom & Nikki Marra of the Buzz Bissinger Show
Bloom complained after John went on the Kevin Slaten Show and discussed Bloom's response that people were emailing him to complain. Bloom then wrote this email to John after John told him he hadn't asked anyone to write him but whould be happy to start a boycott of WIP/WPHT if that was what he wanted. Here was his response..

Really John? Where do you think this guy "heard" we spoke? It wasn't on the air or from me. Nor did the other writers learn that I had viewed your video from me or on the air.
Here's the deal. You do what you want but now you're on my crack pot list. I made the mistake of engaging you but this is the last time I will acknowledge you. I will also not permit you on the air. So don't blame Buzz or Angelo. You crossed several lines.
Remove me from all your distribution lists. Andy Bloom
Then, after John wrote him back telling him he doubted that he had actually told either host that he was banned, John got this request to appear on the Buzz Bissinger program.

Mr. Ziegler,
Would you be interested in coming on the air and debating with Buzz Bissinger your views about Mr. Paterno. I’m sure you are aware of Buzz’s stance on the issue, as he has been the most outspoken writer/blogger/tweeter/talk show host on this issue. I can assure you this is something he feels strongly about, so this would be a bit of a heated debate. If you are up for it, then we’d love to have you on the program sometime this week.
Let me know your thoughts,
Thanks, Nikki Marra
Executive Producer, Buzz Bissinger Show
After receiving the email above John then asked to speak to the producer and they spoke on the phone. When they spoke on the phone John said he would do the interview if was scheduled for an hour and if they promised to post the audio after the interview. The producer agreed and here was her confirmation email.

John,
It was good to talk with you today. We are confirmed for you to appear via phone on the Buzz Bissinger Show on WPHT 1210AM in Philadelphia on Thursday September 6, 2012 at 4pm EST; 1pm your time. Our call in number is xxxxxxx. You can use the studio number as a back-up and my cell phone in case of an emergency. I have your numbers as well. I will anticipate you to call in at 4pm EST but because we take live news our segment will start more accurately around 4:05pm EST.
Post show the segment will be podcasted (for free) on to CBSPhilly.com/Buzz
If you have any other questions, concerns, or comments feel free to get in touch.
Thanks,
Nikki
After John was lied to several times on and off the air about the nature of what would happen next he was eventually prevented from even answering the two questions Bissinger posed before he cut John off. Now we will wait and see if they also lied about posting the audio. Considering Bissinger may have committed a blatant FCC violation during the interview, we predict that they will not live up to their word. But what else would you expect from people like this?

My email to Mr Bloom sent early this morning
Dear Mr. Bloom *better have an assistant read and study this since you don't have the time to know the TRUTH.
My name is Barry Bozeman and I am the owner author and editor of the Second Mile Sandusky Scandal website I am writing because I would prefer to show you the simple truth than to open you for ridicule.
Today we are posting the email exchange between you and John Ziegler and we will be promoting it to our 150,000 readers this week
I am a graduate of the University of Tennessee and despite your protestation to the contrary a very rational student and writer on the Sandusky Scandal and the Freeh Fiction. I have followed this case with focused interest and determination since I read the bogus Attorney General Linda Kelly's Presentment LIE in November
Your Quote: You think Jerry Sandusky was booted from the coaching staff because? I’m sorry that you think there is a conspiracy. We have a lot of PSU alumni who think the same thing. I assume you must be an alum because no rational thinking human being thinks anything other than there was a massive cover up on all levels.
Well I am a rational thinking human being and I know there was no massive cover up on any level - and the entire premise of that conspiracy theory is preposterous.
Let me show you why and how Jerry Sandusky retired from coaching following the 1998 season according to Louis Freeh's own evidence and statements
Jan 1998 - Louis Freeh shows a typewritten version of Joe's notes of a meeting with Jerry and Tim Curley 4 months before the 1998 incident.
SEE EXHIBIT 3D - in the Freeh Report Exhibits and while you are there read the rest of the #3 exhibits about Curley offering Sandusky as job as assistant AD, and Sandusky's negotiated retirement package. This process started in Jan of 1998 when Joe told Jerry he would not be the next head coach. If you are able to admit your error in this - what else are you wrong about?
Jerry was not booted - he retired and was rewarded for his service with special emeritus status. These men all believed he was a valuable asset to PSU because he was known as a Charity Founder, Foster Father of seven, non-drinker church going honoree of Pres Bush the Sr., Sen Santorum and countless of the most prominent Pennsylvanians. They knew he brought "Jerry's Kids" to the facilities and all believe he was doing a great humanitarian thing devoting his time and income to help these kids. They didn't see a predator - they saw a saint. You have to put yourself in their mindset. Joe had 30 years experience with him and never suspected a thing. Read his notes in the Freeh Report. Joe didn't like the guy but he respected him for his charity work.
We have assembled a team of 30 dedicated researchers, investigators, and writers who have interviewed many people and we received leads every day via email and telephone from people with information about Mike McQueary, DPW, The Second Mile and Corbett and Kelly.
Louis Freeh proposed a cover up conspiracy based on NO EVIDENCE against Joe Paterno. Every "KEY FINDING" in his report about 1998 contained a fiction beyond rational belief. Read this for a clear and concise picture of the actual TRUTH
In 1998 CYS DPW and TSM all Failed the Victims of Jerry Sandusky - Joe Paterno and PSU had nothing to do with their incredibly naive finding that Jerry Sandusky showed NO CRIMINAL or SEXUALLY INAPPROPRIATE behavior in 1998. The facts are all here in this article with the Police Report and Dr Alycia Chambers reoport. Yet Louis Freeh claims Joe Paterno LIED about knowing there was an investigation in 1998.
So ask yourself the SIMPLE QUESTION: Why would Joe or anyone else lie about knowing that Sandusky was CLEARED or all or any Criminal or Sexually inappropriate behavior in 1998? Why would he not tell the Grand Jury "Sure I knew a mother complained about her son working out and showering with Jerry at our facilities and a 6 week investigation by CYS, DPW two police agencies and the DA's office concluded there was nothing criminal or sexually inappropriate about Jerry's behavior."
When you can answer that you will be well on your way to discovering the TRUTH as I have. I have no ties to PSU and no love for Joe Paterno. Unlike John Ziegler I'm a liberal, but my father was a Tennessee State Supreme Court Justice, President of the UT Alumni Association and Potentate of the Kerbela Shrine and Emeritus Member of the Board of the Shrines Children's Hospitals and the Board of Trustees of the University of Tennessee. And something is rotten with Corbett's close association with his buddy Freeh and this 6.5 million dollar slander and libel of Joe Paterno. We know a lot of it. and much of it is in the pages or our website. I suggest you have an assistant read it with an open mind as if he never heard of Jerry Sandusky and have that assistant fill you in. We use the actual evidence and testimony under oath to make our cases. Not some wild conjecture or conspiracy theory like Freeh did.
Have your assistant read this about Mike McQueary's actual testimony and compare that with Linda Kelly's presentment that started the entire media frenzy with the LIE - Mike SAW a boy being subjected to anal intercourse and told that to Joe Paterno and other PSU administrators. _ Mike couldn't and didn't even convince his own father and doctor that is what he saw because he didn't.
You have a lot to learn about this if you are even interested in the TRUTH. Contact me and agree to reconsider your statements and to cover your findings on the radio and we will write that you have taken the time to find out the truth.
Barry Bozeman
The KEY FINDINGS page 55 of the Freeh Fiction see the final item in this list and reconsider your "Sandusky retired because?" sarcasm Mr Bloom

NOW I remember why I stopped listening to 610 WIP and 1210 WPHT. (I used to flip back and forth between those stations religiously, and was a pretty big fan of Michael Smerconish, Glenn Macnow, Anthony Gargano. I even listened to Angelo Cataldi's show.)
ReplyDeleteRational discourse - and the lack of it. Those two stations just promote the mob mentality over reason and rationality. And now I know who was behind it all.
Seriously, seriously, are you kidding me, seriously. He sounds like a New Jersey housewife trying to convince the public she doesn't get paid for her tabloid stories and photo shoots. Seriously. Are you kidding me? Seriously.
ReplyDeleteRegarding Freeh: I find it difficult to believe any RATIONAL thinking human being would accept the Freeh report as the premise on which they draw all their opinions. I mean, SERIOUSLY, Are you kidding me? Seriously?? The man was an embarrassment to the FBI. Remember the Soviet Union/Russian spy that operated right under his nose? Yeah, Freeh's a man of keen perception. Seriously. And apparently Bloom, so are you.
OH MY GOSH!!!! I have no words that can adequately express my "horror" over the ignorance of Mr. Bloom! I am a Penn Stater and have been crushed by the events of these last months. The injustice served upon the football players, the Paterno family, and OF COURSE the children who were so badly hurt by Sandusky has been heart breaking.
ReplyDeleteI will never give up on Joe Paterno, his character, or his legacy. The BOT, the NCAA, the media act as if Joe's life can be erased and they are allowing the inaccurate Freeh report to do that. When responsible, fair, due process is given to Joe and the football program, then and only then will I relook at my current thoughts of JOe's steadfast innocence and total lack of cover-up activity.
My Penn State flag hangs proudly outside my home.

Well, I'm not a PSU graduate. I did learn to think for myself, though, and not just allow myself to be lead by the media or the politicians or anyone else. I can research and so I did. What I found was that the mainstream media lies. That's exactly what I found. After the coverage of this case, I will probably NEVER again trust anything I hear by members of the media. I will also NEVER trust the PSU Board Members on anything they say....at least not those who were members back in November of 2011. I read the FreehFiction. It didn't take me long to figure out it was fiction either; but then as I said, I can think for myself and I know how to research. I personally believe that piece of fiction was written according to instructions from the Board. I do not believe for one second that the members of the PSU Board are as totally incapable of making even one rational leadership decision as the Board's total ineptitude has demonstrated since November of 2011. These are not stupid people. These are calculating intelligent business people whose primary concern is typically centered around two things: MONEY and POWER. No, they are not stupid. They are calculating, deceitful, power-hungry, arrogent, self-absorbed, shameful, wretched SCOUNDRELS! While the mainstream media and its public puppets have been busy condemning JoePa, Penn Staters have raised a ton of money for victims of sexual assault. What have any of these media members or public puppets done? I think they're still on that famous quote, "I would have done more than JoePa." YEAH, RIGHT. LIARS.

DeleteAngry Lion has left a new comment on your post "One in the Media Responds to the Challenge":
Delete"I'm not a PSU graduate." Making this your opening comment on this post makes me think you're trying to represent an unbiased point of view. Is this your Facebook page? www.facebook.com/JoePaFan. Well, that's not helping your cause. John Z is trying to make money by pandering to a cult-like following. There's money in that. How else is a guy going to make a living when all his time is spent on this topic. Interviews, making YouTube movies, websites, upcoming documentary, twitter, Facebook, etc, etc. I feel bad you think someone believes in your cause that much.
I have to put this back up Angry Lion.
DeleteThis attitude that "xxxx is trying to make money pandering to a cult like following" is so truly bizarre. It makes me curious how anyone can reasonably suggest that there is money to be make taking up such an unpopular cause as the defense of Penn State and Joe Paterno. Perhaps you think the information that appears on these pages is some kind of easy magic. That no effort or work is involved in keeping up with these events and gathering the information required to make these arguments? Well I can assure you that what I do here requires at minimum 60 hours a week and 5 or 6 of those include speaking with John Ziegler.
I will assume from your alias that you are a PSU alumni or fan. How odd it seems to me that you would spend your time attacking people who are seeking to expose the truth about the Freeh Fiction and the defamation of Joe Paterno. It would seem odd except I've run across a dozen or so like you out of the 100's that have visited here and offered their kind comments, encouragement and appreciation, and yes even 23 donations of from 5 to 100 dollars.
So tell us where is this money making happening because I would love to get in on it as I imagine John would. After all we are not Communists. I suppose we shouldn't be surprised that a dozen or so malcontents would attack us as mercenaries. I'm just surprised that they lack the intelligence to comprehend the absurdity of that charge. We have nothing to sell here except our opinions and those are offered free of charge. If anyone cares to help us out with a donation that's their right is it not. Is your arm being twisted?
I suppose you must disagree with our opinions and our content. That is your right. But those who agree with us have the ability to decide for themselves whether or not our efforts are worthy of a donation or two. Attacking that idea seems ridiculous. It supposes that people reading mine or John's work are not capable of deciding for themselves if they find it worth a donation. Why does that bother you?
and please tell us where "There is money in that" and if there is why is that a problem for you? Doesn't everyone who makes money do it by providing something people want to buy?
